TLDR: It’s a cute dress, especially for the price point. The problem I’ve found with Sezane is that the product photos all look amazing. The models are gorgeous, and darn it, those product pictures really work! I always want to buy something while scrolling through the Sezane website. Unfortunately, I’ve found that quality and fit is a total hit or miss. Luckily, the return policy is easy enough but it’s always a pain to have to send things back, no matter how much brands tout easy returns.
FIT: A tad short. Also, I think the dress might have shrunk a little bit in the wash because now it’s most certainly a mini-dress! It was definitely longer when I first purchased it. There’s an adjustable tie so you can have a nicely cinched waist. The fabric has stretch too so it’s very comfortable. I just have to be a little conscious when I sit down because sometimes the skirt rides up much higher than I’d like! I ordered the size S – I was initially worried that it might be too small because, as we all know, French sizes can run very small. However, I counterbalanced by the fact that I normally like having a very tailored fit. In case it helps, my bust is 37″ and my waist is 29″ and this fit fine. Might want to size up if you want a looser fit.
QUALITY: At the end of the day, I view Sezane as a nicer version of a fast-fashion brand. The quality isn’t going to be great and frankly you get what you pay for. I’ve worn this dress a bunch of times in the last few months and the shape has held up. The one thing that’s quite noticeable is that the polka dots are no longer white but have yellowed a little bit. It hasn’t stopped me from still wearing it though.
STYLE: It’s great. A chic style that works well for my body. I’ve dressed this up with heels as well as dress down in flats or even sneakers. It’s pretty versatile and I’ve worn it at least twenty times by now! It’s become a wardrobe staple. Might have to get the same style in more colors, if Sezane is still selling them…Sezane,S,$150,5’5-5’6 5’5-5’6,Dress,French Brands,Size S All Reviews,Dresses,Sezane
I like the Pippa Short in Madison, but I think the shoulders are weirdly pointy on me. I ordered the long Pippa and didn’t feel like so had that problem. Maybe the extra weight of the dress pulled them down. Also, does the print look a little old or is it cute? I’m on the hunt for some cute platform sneakers, which is probably what I would wear with it.Sezane, size XS,,<5'0 <5'0,Dress,French Brands,Size XS All Reviews,Sezane
