My normal shoe size is 7.5 so I sized up here to an 8 which turned out to be a bit too big for me. It might have been better to size down to a 7. The annoying thing about shoes is that it’s hard to tell what the fit is like until you walk around in them for at least a little bit. Unfortunately, by the time you realize that the shoe is probably too big (or too small or too uncomfortable), you can’t return them. I’ll take them to the cobbler and maybe add toe inserts or something. It’s not a big deal, just extra work to walk around in shoes that don’t fit super well.
They do look pretty fabulous and I love that they keep my feet cool as the weather gets hotter. I was worried that the style would be too casual in the office but I wear them around and I think the heel and shape are still elegant enough that it works. They’re also very comfortable so if you can get the right size, I definitely recommend them. I’ll add the toe inserts or anti slip gel pads and I should be good to go! I might even get another color.
***UPDATE – it’s been a good year since I bought these shoes so I thought an update would be helpful. The shoes have worn out a fair amount. It’s quite dirty at the toes and the straw starts to come apart on the sides. HOWEVER, I will caveat that I’m a walker. I walk about 15-20 minutes every day to the office. I think if you don’t walk nearly as much as I do or if you even rotate your shoes out with other pairs more often, it probably won’t wear down as much. I still recommend it but I would definitely size down as they’re pretty uncomfortable to wear at this point since they stretched out a fair amount. The first three pics are the most recent ones.
