TLDR: A chic black turtleneck has long been on my to-buy list: who doesn’t want to tap into their inner Parisienne? It’s been long on my list and I finally saw a basic black turtleneck on the Reiss website during the winter sale. It was such a great price point that I couldn’t not get it. I wasn’t disappointed.
FIT: I generally like my clothes to be fairly fitted – I have a curvy-ish body type and anything oversized is not flattering. For context, my bust is 37″ and waist is 29″, and I got the S. It’s form-fitting, probably more so than a lot of women, but this is the vibe that I was looking for.
QUALITY: It’s hard to quibble about quality when you pay $38 for a top but I am very satisfied. The top is made of a pretty thick fabric – it feels almost like a thermal top. I’ve bought thin jersey turtlenecks from places like Uniqlo where it looks and feels cheap; not this top. Just be careful when putting on the top after putting your makeup on – I’ve had moments where my foundation would rub onto the fabric or, if I’m not careful, deodorant stains. You can see the make-up stains on the picture below of the top on the bed.
STYLE: A classic, every day turtleneck. It looks fabulous with a skirt as well as jeans. Love it!,,,
Is it a rib knit?
