Quick caveat, I didn’t end up purchasing this dress but I had this pic on my phone so I thought it would be helpful to share. Note – at the time, I was looking for “office appropriate” dresses, and at first blush I thought this dress could work. However, as soon as I put it on, it was a quick “hell no”!

Fit was great! I got a US size 6 which is what I normally buy in REISS. Definitely fitted but that’s my usual go-to style. I thought it was very flattering and comfortable and if it wasn’t for an office-setting, I would definitely have purchased it

OK so let’s talk about why it didn’t work:

The keyhole in the neckline – I like to push the envelope, but this was definitely a bit much. I love showing decolletage but I do draw the line at cleavage. Fine for a date night or girls night out, but definitely not good for your conservative finance job on Park Ave…

I loved the femininity of the lace but the lace in the hip area was almost see-through! I think some fashion-forwarded offices might’ve been OK with this but definitely not the finance world. It’s a shame because I really thought this was gorgeous, feminine, and comfortable but unfortunately it just didn’t work for me with respect to what I was looking for. Otherwise, I was a big fan!
