This is a classic Rouje style and I had seen so many adds and pics of this dress so I was super excited to try this on... only to be a little let down. I tried size 38 which translates to a 6. It was definitely quite snug, I could've probably gone up a size. I usually wear 4-6 so Rouje probably runs small vs other brands. The print was really lovely but the shape was not super flattering. The chest area in particular was funky - it felt like too much gape and I don't think I'm particularly big (34C) but I would not have felt comfortable wearing this dress outside as it is way too plunge for my comfort. Quality vs. Sezane: They use a lot of the same synthetic materials like polyester and viscose but they don’t have as many natural materials as Sezane, like silk and cotton. I do think the quality of Sezane pieces is a bit better but the style of Rouje pieces are really lovely. I have a hard time buying from them directly because their shipping and returns are very expensive, so I mostly buy from the secondhand market. Rouje Sizing: I’m pretty solidly a 36 (US 4) in Rouje and a 34-36 (US 2-4) in Sezane. So I’d say it runs a tad small but it is fairly consistent. I'm 5'2. A general note: The brand is great and I find the quality to be really good. Got this dress in my usual size 34. (US size 2). Even at the smallest size it’s still very roomy on my chest. I have a very very small chest though but even so there is plenty of room on top. Its very snug across my hips and I do not have big hips at all. In fact I’m quite straight up and down. So I would say size UP definitely to accommodate curvier hips. I find the quality of this dress slightly better than their viscose Gabin dresses. This dress is Rayon so has a more crepe like feel to it and no stretch whatsoever. It’s a stunning print! so flattering!!! Rouje quality does not match Rouje prices for sure but their styles are fab and very hard to find elsewhere.
