Finally, my best shoe purchase for this fall! These cap toe ballet flats by Tory Burch! These ballet flats are eeeverything! The leather is so soft and smooth, and the color is so lovely. It was my first Tory Burch purchase so I was able to use the discount code for signing up. I’d tried the ginger colorway through Shopbop but it wasn’t a good color match for me.
I’ve always daydreamed about the Chanel cap toe ballet flats but knew that I could never justify their price. But these darling flats were in my price range after the discount code and honestly I like the design even better than the Chanel! The sparkle of gold is really lovely and personally I like that the cuff isn’t a separate color band. I ordered my usual 7.5 and 7 and found the 7.5 much too large and the 7 to be a good fit. But when I had tried the ginger colorway the 7.5 had been ok lengthwise but just a tad too wide. So there might be some variation in each pair? I went through a whole process to find comfortable, work-appropriate flats. I experimented with several smaller designers because I wanted to support emerging brands but frankly they weren't any good so I've come to the realization that for something super technical like shoes, you just gotta go to the experts. I hadn't bought anything from Tory Burch but I knew plenty of women in my office who wore her shoes so I figured I couldn't go wrong. I LOVE these shoes. Minimal break-in period, true to size (I am a 7.5 and sometimes have to size up), and super comfortable while stylish. I have one con - I got stuck in an NYC summer thunderstorm. The shoes got completely drenched but the shoe remained undamaged. HOWEVER, in the inside of the shoe, I think the leather dye bled onto my foot and it was literally impossible to get off. I think I must've washed my foot with soap 5-6 times and it made no difference. I ended up getting a pumice stone (!) and basically scraping off the surface layer.
